Despite the low price point of this list of quadcopters, these drones still come with occassional cameras, extra batteries and decent flying times. They are the ultimate learning tool before you go down the route of more expensive flyers, but are still fun enough on a standalone basis.
We review 9 of our favourite quadcopters for under $100 in this article. Each of these quadcopters comes with a number of features that sets it apart from other similar-priced quadcopters.
So let's get into our review of the top 9 quadcopters for under $100!
The Syma X5C is a great starter drone and for the pricing is worth flying a number of times until you get the hang of flying and break it. This quadcopter has all the requirements of a basic drone, so use it to learn before moving on to higher quality drones.
The Predator has 3 different modes for beginners to more advanced flyers and really is a lot of fun to fly. Customers noted it holds up well to a number of crashes without bending a prop. It's very stable and responsive and the lights on the bottom are bright enough to identify front and back from a ways away. This can be a indoor or outdoor quad and it's pretty quick in the highest speed including recovering from flips and rolls.
This drone is perfect for beginners to learn how to fly. The Syma X11 is very stable once you have set up proper trim. A great little drone, just watch out for the very quick run flat scenario as it only gives about 10 seconds of warnings with flashing lights before going flat. Perhaps a good idea is to time it separately and ensure a softer landing.
This quadcopter is well priced for including a camera as well as the usual one-touch trick and flick contollers. The camera is mounted on the battery door and is done so in such a way that with the removal of a few screws and simply unplugging the lead you could fly without the extra weight of the camera if wanted. The trick mode is awesome, bump the trick button and flip the control stick in any direction and the Quadrcopter will do a barrel roll/360 degree flip in that/any direction.
The Hubsan is a great little quadcopter toy, but it is suggested picking up extra larger batteries right away. Flight indoors is a bit longer with hovering, landing, and taking off again. The batteries should give about 4 minutes flying outdoors at or near full throttle
Although this drone is quite a bit larger than other similar priced drones, a real advantage is the 10 minutes of flying time per battery and the inclusion of 4 batteries with the purchase. This gives a great amount of flying time for the price.
The Cheerwing has some nice features related to its decent camera for the price, the FPV mode as well as being compatible for VR. It might be a bit more difficult to control due to the camera weight, but is at least internal to the drone. Battery life seems to be quite good as well as additional batteries included.
The UDI flies very nicely. It's light relative to size but moderate winds will not treat it kindly. It's robust and very well made. The transmitter looks good, less toyish looking than other controllers. The video however is interrupted if signal is lost.
Considering that most of the drones with decent cameras on it cost far more. The protective sides for the blades help if you hit something you dont need to worry about the blades snapping off. The camera is great for aerial shots.
AUKEY's mini quadcopter packs a lot of fun into such a tiny quadcopter. It works well considering the size, but there is a learning curve if you've never used one before. If this is your first time, I would recommend practicing in a large open area with soft landing spots. The quadcopter is as delicate as it appears to be.
